Meet The Optometrist

After completing an internship at Mountain Home VA hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee, Dr. Jessup relocated to the Bellevue area of Nashville, Tennessee, and began a private practice serving the surrounding area.

Dr. Jessup is Board Certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry, and in addition to maintaining his private practice serves as a staff physician for 360 Care, caring for patients in numerous nursing homes in the Middle Tennessee area. Dr. Jessup also served as a key doctor delivering eye care to over one thousand children for the Head Start and Early Head Start programs in Middle and East Tennessee during the fall of 2014.

Dr. Jessup is the recipient of numerous awards including Metro Council Director of Volunteers Certificate of Appreciation, Tennessee Prevent Blindness Fred A. Rowe Volunteer of the Year Award, National Society to Prevent Blindness Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Jessup has letters of appreciation from presidents, governors, CEO's, teachers, and parents for his service to others.

As his practice grew it has been relocated from Belle Forest Circle to its present home in the Creekside Square Building between Domino’s and Jiffy Lube on Old Harding Pike in Bellevue. Dr. Jessup started a second practice on Thompson Lane near Nolensville Road serving the Woodbine area with a completely bilingual (Spanish/English) staff. Thompson Lane Eye Care is still providing excellent care under the leadership and direction of it’s new owner, Dr. Allison Jones.

Dr. Jessup is happily married to his lovely wife, Claudia, and is the proud father of three sons, Clay, Julian, and Jacob. He is also a motorcyclist, enjoys home projects, art, clay target sports, and is a private pilot.

Receptionist
Harley is our receptionist and will likely be the first voice you hear when calling. Feel free to ask for her help with scheduling or questions about insurance benefits and coverages.

Assistant
Our head ophthalmic technician at Jessup Eye care is Skye. She works daily as Dr. Jessup’s “right arm” preparing patients for their time with the doctor. She is also responsible for training new contact lens wearers, handling contact lens orders and shipment, and helping with any questions you may have about the care you receive.

Opticians
Jessica and Clay are our “resident experts” in the optical area and stand ready to help with all your needs for prescription eyeglasses, sports glasses, prescription sunglasses. Looking good in your new glasses is just as important as seeing well, and we make sure to meet your needs in both areas.

Ophthalmic Lab Technician
Clay manages our ophthalmic laboratory and has been fabricating eyeglasses for over nine years. Our lab utilizing state-of-the-art technology to quickly provide your quality eyeglass lenses. Feel free to stop in anytime and have your glasses cleaned or adjusted free of charge.
